Meydan One Ski

Dubai, the city bursting with innovations has once again succeeded in filling our minds with anticipation with its new estimated $8.6 billion scheme; the Meydan One project, which is expected to be on the road of completion by the year 2020.

On Monday the 3rd of August 2015, his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, officially approved this new massive development which will include the world's tallest residential tower, world's tallest observation deck, the world's longest indoor ski slope and the largest dancing fountain in the world which be breaking not one, not two, but five world records. Developed by Meydan city corporation at a size of 3.67 million square meters, the Meydan One will be situated between Meydan hotel and Al Khail Road, and will feature every residential, leisure and hospitality component. This project is estimated to house up to 78,000 residents and cater to the wants of every individual with its outstanding facilities.


Sporting amenities
The best part of the Medyan One project is the indoor ski slope which will be the world's longest at 1.2km long and highest at 180m high, keeping every ski fanatic more than satisfied. The project will also make available several other sports including golf, hockey, tennis, lacrosse, martial arts, football, squash, basketball, volleyball, indoor cricket, mixed, softball, and baseball. With a seating capacity of 8,000 people, the Meydan sport arena will be a host to sporting events, concerts, etc. The Meydan One project has outdoor sport options as well like football pitches, mountain biking, walking and running trails, a skateboard park and a BMX park. 


The Meydan Mall One
The project will hold the Meydan One Mall which will feature 540,000 sqm of luxury and premium brand retail outlets and will host 652 stores, cafes and kiosks. For the months of winter, the mall will feature a retractable 150m x 80m roof to be opened during that time of the year and will also attract flagship retailers, luxury stand-alone outlets and nightlife. 


World's largest dancing fountain
With a floating stage and space enough to host 60,000 people, the largest dancing fountain in the world will reach over 420m long with laser light choreographed display, and is sure to entertain and attract citizens or tourists of Dubai. 


Beach in heart of city
Next to the aqua marine Crystal lagoons is a 300m long beach where visitors can go for a swim or have access to other facilities like kayaking, beach volleyball, paddle boats, beach bar, restaurants, and the water park.


World's tallest residential tower
The project will consist of the Dubai One tower which will be the tallest tower in the world at a projected height of 711m with a 350,000 sqm gross floor area. This multi-functional tower will consist of 885 apartments, a 5-star hotel with 350 rooms, a conference centre, an observation deck at 655m, a sky restaurant at 675m, a plaza view restaurant and terrace, and a Marina yacht club.
