Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Enrolling in a class is the quickest and safest way to learn to ski or snowboard. Being together with other people of the same ability is a crucial confidence-builder: you are no longer the worst on the slope, only one of the worst :)

Ski Dubai lessons are offered on a private slope for beginner and level 1 lessons to allow learners to develop effective skills in a controlled environment where safety is a priority. Intermediate skiers and snowboarders are instructed on blue and red groomed runs, reached via flying carpets lifts and the Express chairlift. For those with more experience or at expert level, more challenging areas are available such as the Snickers Freestyle zone, temporary race runs and the world's first indoor run.

GROUP LESSONS

An excellent way to learn is to learn with a group of maximum 8 to 10 skiers/boarders of the same ability. The session lasts 90 minutes but can be shortened to 1 hour for adults groups of less than 3 people. Junior programs for children less than 6 years are shortened to 60 minutes and children who get tired can rest until the end of the session in the Snow Park. A professional instructor will help warm up, practice using the latest techniques and have fun!

First-timers are required to take the Discovery group lesson which lasts for 1 hour and through which they will get initiated to the equipment and basics of skiing or snowboarding.

KIDS

Ski Dubai accepts children from around 3 years old into the Ski Dubai Polar Bear Club. Teaching is provided in a safe and professional manner to make children feel happy both on snow and on their skis. They then progress to learn snow plough turns, simple step turns and easy downhill runs. Most teaching methods for children involve little explanation and a great deal of copying movements. Children's technique often develops directly from the snow plough to parallel turns simply through progressive increase in speed and narrowing of the skis, much to the irritation and pride of the parents!

After each lesson at the Polar Bear, progress is recorded in a personal passport. When a level is fully completed, learners are eligible to wear the Polar Bear badge corresponding to that level. These badges are a reward for achievement and can only be purchased once the set skill level has been reached.

Helmets are required for children under 13 years and are provided as part of the equipment included in session and lesson passes.
