Dubai is the city booming with unique and never before seen innovations that have made their way to chart breakers in categories including the tallest skyscraper, biggest mall, and one of the world's most unique resorts. More projects are still in progress as per the below.
The Dubai Eye
At 210m tall and holding 1400 visitors, the Dubai eye will be the largest, most luxurious and advanced observation wheel in the world. The Dubai eye is not just an iconic landmark, it has more than just a breathtaking sight to see; it has experiences to be lived. It will be located on the vibrant blue waters island with an 80m digital screen for broadcasting, advertisements, and other information, as well as 48 luxury capsules where people to celebrate their special moments in. This huge Ferris wheel is said to cost about AED 1 billion by completion in 2017 and it's base will serve as an entertainment zone with the expectation of 3 million visitors per year for a journey of a lifetime.
Dubai Water Canal
Set to be completed by October 2016, The Dubai water canal is a 3 km long project starting from the business bay into the Persian gulf through Safa park and Jumeirah. It will comprise of one shopping centre, four hotels, 450 restaurants, luxury housing, walkways and cycle paths. Part of the canals have been completed and confirmed by the roads and transportation authority. The project will cost a total of about 545 million dollars and is expected to provide new areas measuring 80,000 square meters for public places and facilities like private marinas and a new trade center at the entrance of the canal. The canal will measure 6 meters deep with bridges 8 meters high in order to allow the passing of yachts and marine vehicles.
Hollywood Theme Park
Set to be completed by October 2016, is the new upcoming 70 billion dollar project; the Hollywood theme park. This theme park is like no other and will be completely based on Hollywood movies as it joined forces with the three biggest names in Hollywood; Sony Pictures Studios, DreamWorks Animation and Lionsgate. This future 1.9 million square feet project is as amazing as its name and will be the largest Hollywood stimulated theme park with fun experiences and thrilling modern multimedia rides for a cinematic experience, family-friendly restaurants, souvenir outlets, and theaters that can host 1000 guests.
Inspired by the tales of Aladdin and Sinbad is the new upcoming project; the Aladdin City. The development will spread as far as 1,500 feet along the Dubai creek and will cover about 4,000 acres in total and will feature 6 towers designed similarly to the genie lamp and will shimmer in golden color with the highest tower measuring at 34 storey. They will be linked by air-conditioned bridges with moving carpets inspired by Aladdin's magic carpet. These towers will include offices, one hotel, and enough parking to accommodate 900 vehicles. According to Municipality’s Director-General Hussain Nasser Lootah, the Aladdin City is expected to be completed by the year 2020.
